Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste on Friday stressed the significance of files allegedly left by former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral, whose body was found near a ravine in Tuba, Benguet.
In a Facebook post, Leviste claimed that Cabral possessed critical records linked to questionable DPWH projects.
“May listahan sa computer ni yumaong USec Cabral ng lahat ng proponents ng DPWH insertions,” Leviste said.
“May iilang may kopya nito. Kung lumabas lang ito, tapos na ang mga imbestigasyon,” he added.
Leviste earlier confirmed that he is in possession of a copy of the list, which allegedly contains details of questionable DPWH projects and their proponents.
In a separate post, the lawmaker called for the protection of individuals connected to the case, saying, “Protect the witnesses of DPWH and preserve their files.”
Leviste, a first-term legislator and son of Senator Loren Legarda, had previously disclosed alleged anomalous infrastructure projects in his district, adding to the growing scrutiny surrounding irregularities within the DPWH.
