LPG PRICES SURGE AS OIL FIRMS IMPLEMENT STEEP HIKES STARTING APRIL 1

Filipino households are facing heavier expenses at the start of April as major oil companies announced significant increases in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Petron Corporation implemented a ₱20 per kilo hike effective 12:01 a.m. on April 1, citing adjustments tied to the international contract price of LPG for the month.
Solane followed with a ₱17 per kilo increase, which took effect at 6 a.m. on April 1.

Industry officials explained that the price surge stems from rising global oil costs, driven by supply concerns linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The increases are expected to impact household budgets nationwide, particularly families that rely heavily on LPG for daily cooking needs.

The adjustments mark another round of fuel-related challenges for consumers, underscoring the ripple effects of international market volatility on local prices.
