The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced Friday that fares on the Manila Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will be reduced by 50% beginning March 23, providing relief for daily commuters amid rising fuel prices.
Under the updated fare structure, stored value card users will pay between ₱6.50 and ₱16.50 depending on distance, while single-journey tickets will range from ₱8 to ₱18.
The discount applies across all stations from Recto Avenue to Antipolo, including Cubao, Katipunan, and Santolan.
A similar 50% fare reduction is also being implemented on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).
The LRTA advised passengers to check the updated fare matrix to confirm rates for their specific trips.
