Six in ten Filipinos believe that Vice President Sara Duterte should face the impeachment trial at the Senate, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey commissioned by the StratBase Group.
Conducted among 1,200 respondents with a ±3.0% margin of error, the survey revealed that 66% support the continuation of the impeachment proceedings against Duterte.
Meanwhile, 15% were undecided, and 19% opposed the trial.
For many advocacy groups, the survey results serve as a clear call for the Senate to proceed with the impeachment trial after it was previously delayed and sent back to the House of Representatives for further review of the Articles of Impeachment.
Critics argue that any further delay may undermine accountability and public trust in the legislative process.
