Malacañang has suspended work in all government offices on December 29, 2025 (Monday) and January 2, 2026 (Friday) to allow state workers to fully celebrate New Year activities and travel across the country.
Under Memorandum Circular No. 111, issued by authority of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the suspension applies to national government offices, with exceptions for agencies providing basic, vital, and health services, as well as disaster preparedness and response, which must remain operational.
The circular noted that the suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective management. The memorandum, signed by the Acting Executive Secretary on Thursday, took effect immediately.
The announcement effectively extends the year-end holiday break for government employees, following Rizal Day on December 30 and New Year’s Day on January 1, 2026.
