Malacañang assured the public that the government remains focused on strengthening and improving the country despite recent political controversies.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro made the statement in response to allegations by Senator Imee Marcos claiming President Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos use illegal drugs, and former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co alleging the President received kickbacks from the 2025 national budget.
Castro said that despite leadership changes in key government agencies, the President is confident in the continued strengthening of the nation’s future, citing the capabilities of Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Frederick Go.
“Ito ay patungkol sa ekonomiya, patatagin ang ekonomiya at buksan pa lalo ang ating bansa para sa mga investor,” Castro said.
Recto assured the President that the economy remains stable and there is no cause for concern despite the current political noise.
The Palace emphasized that PBBM wants to signal to investors that the government is actively addressing corruption, instilling confidence in continued investment in the Philippines.
