MALACAÑANG DECLARES SPECIAL NON-WORKING DAYS IN FIVE AREAS

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., through Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, has declared special non-working days in five localities across the country for January and February 2026.

The proclamations cover one province, two cities, and two towns, each marking significant local celebrations.

By virtue of Proclamation 1143, Cadiz City in Negros Occidental will suspend work on January 26 for the 52nd Dinagsa Festival.

Proclamation 1147 designates February 2 as a non-working day in Ilocos Norte for its 208th Founding Anniversary.

In Biñan City, February 3 will be observed as a holiday under Proclamation 1144, commemorating its 81st Liberation Day.

Proclamation 1145 declares a non-working day in Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay, for its founding anniversary and the BOG Festival.

Finally, Proclamation 1146 sets February 28 as a holiday in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, in celebration of its Founding Anniversary.

The proclamations, announced by the Palace on Saturday, highlight the government’s recognition of local heritage and community milestones.
