MALACAÑANG DISMISSES BARZAGA’S CLAIMS AGAINST PBBM

Malacañang has responded to the recent statements made by Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

During a press briefing on Thursday, October 9, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro asserted that the public should not believe in allegations that lack basis or sufficient evidence.

“Mahirap po kasing magsalita nang walang ebidensya. Madaling magbintang, madaling magsabi nang kung anu-ano. Kung walang ebidensya, ‘di dapat paniwalaan,” Castro said.

Barzaga had previously released a series of Facebook posts accusing the Palace of being the very source of corruption. He has also been vocal in pushing for the impeachment of President Marcos.

When asked whether the President pays attention to Barzaga’s remarks, Castro replied that such matters are not a priority for the Chief Executive.

“Sa panahon ngayon na marami pong ginagawa ang Pangulo, hindi po pinapansin ang ganitong klaseng usapin,” she said.

She added that the President remains focused on serving the Filipino people and uplifting the nation’s condition.

“Busy ang Pangulo sa pagtulong sa mga kababayan natin. Maraming trabaho para maiangat pa ang Pilipinas, hindi para ibaba ang dignidad ng ating bansa,” she emphasized.

It may be recalled that Barzaga is among the lawmakers critical of Leyte 1st District Representative and former House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez — a cousin of President Marcos.
