Malacañang clarified Friday that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco had spoken prior to her reassignment, with the Cabinet official agreeing to take on a new role.
Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Frasco realized she could contribute more as Presidential Adviser for Sustainable and Resilient Communities following her discussion with the President.
“Sila po ang nag-usap at nalaman ni Secretary Frasco na mas makakatulong siya sa posisyong ibinigay ng Pangulo,” Castro said.
She did not confirm whether Frasco was removed from the Department of Tourism (DOT) or if it was her personal decision to step down.
Castro added that the matter was not about performance, noting that Marcos thanked Frasco for her significant contributions to the tourism sector.
