Malacañang on Wednesday said President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s recent meetings with former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and boxing icon and former Senator Manny Pacquiao demonstrated leadership rooted in unity and public service.
In Naga City last Saturday, Marcos and Robredo discussed flood control under Oplan Kontra Baha, and they met again at the Malacañang launch of “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” on Monday.
Marcos also attended a ceremony on Tuesday honoring Pacquiao for his contributions to Philippine sports.
“Ipinamalas ng tatlong leader na kahit naging magkakatunggali sila sa nakaraan eleksyon ay hindi ito magiging hadlang sa pagtutulungan at pagse-serbisyo para sa bayan,” Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.
Castro noted that truthful, humble, and selfless leadership benefits the nation, emphasizing that Marcos remains focused on service despite speculation about the 2028 elections:
“So, sa mga nangunguna o inuuna ang pamumulitika sa ngayon, mag-isip-isip at baka hindi kayo qualified,” she said.
The President’s visit to Naga underscored the administration’s commitment to supporting local governments, with Naga City designated as a priority area for flood mitigation efforts.
