Malacañang responded to Vice President Sara Duterte’s remark that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s administration is “unstable.”
Earlier, Duterte accused the Marcos administration of abusing government institutions for its own interests.
In response, Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro said the Vice President only wanted to sow disorder within the government.
She argued that the achievements of the current administration cannot be compared with the previous one, especially as the Marcos government has exposed corruption and anomalies in projects such as flood control—something she claimed was lacking during the presidency of Duterte’s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Critics of the Duterte family have long pointed out that during the Duterte presidency (2016–2022), high-profile figures accused of corruption—including former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, and former Senator Bong Revilla—were freed from detention.
The Duterte administration also faced a major corruption controversy at the height of the pandemic, following the Pharmally scandal.
