The Senate Committee on Accountability of Public Officers and Investigations — better known as the powerful Blue Ribbon Committee — has formally named its official members.
First-term Senator and Senate Deputy Majority Leader Rodante Marcoleta will chair the committee, following his appointment by Senate President Chiz Escudero.
Serving as vice chairpersons are Senators Bato dela Rosa, Bong Go, Alan Peter Cayetano, and Erwin Tulfo.
Committee members include Senators Bam Aquino, Win Gatchalian, Lito Lapid, Imee Marcos, Robinhood Padilla, Kiko Pangilinan, Raffy Tulfo, Risa Hontiveros, Ping Lacson, and Loren Legarda.
Ex-officio members are Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, Senate Majority Floor Leader Joel Villanueva, and Senate Minority Leader Tito Sotto.
According to sources, the committee is set to prioritize investigations into alleged irregularities in flood control projects and failures of certain water utility companies engaged in joint ventures with local government units.
