MARCOS APPOINTS RINGPIS-LIBAN AS CTA PRESIDING JUSTICE

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed Ma. Belen Ringpis-Liban as Presiding Justice of the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA), Malacañang announced Wednesday, December 17. The appointment takes effect immediately.

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the appointment reflects the President’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and strengthening judicial institutions through principled and capable leadership.

“As Presiding Justice, Justice Ringpis-Liban is expected to lead the Court with independence, professionalism, and fidelity to the Constitution,” Castro said.

The CTA plays a crucial role in resolving tax disputes between the government and taxpayers, with decisions considered vital to public trust, fiscal discipline, and economic stability.
