MARCOS ARRIVES IN KUALA LUMPUR FOR 47TH ASEAN SUMMIT

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday to participate in the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits.

The President’s aircraft landed in the Malaysian capital at 2:50 p.m., accompanied by members of the Philippine delegation.

“As always, our participation in the ASEAN Summit reaffirms our dedication to deepening regional cooperation and to advancing the well-being of every Filipino and the entire Southeast Asian community,” Marcos said in his departure speech at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

“I will continue to champion our advocacies in promoting an open, inclusive, and rules-based international order and for the peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with international law,” Marcos added.

During the summit, Marcos is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines and will formally receive the ASEAN chairmanship for 2026.

The ASEAN bloc, composed of the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Timor-Leste, will officially convene on Sunday for the regional gathering.
