President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Saturday introduced the new discounted Beep cards for students, granting them a 50% fare cut when riding the capital’s main rail transit systems.
The launch was held at Legarda Station of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) in Manila, where the President highlighted the program as a big step toward easing the daily burden of student commuters.

“Alam naman natin, students are on a very, very tight budget. Kaya napakalaking tulong itong programang ito para makapagbigay ng 50% discount sa ating mga estudyante,” Marcos said during the ceremony.
The special white Beep cards will be honored across the LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3, giving thousands of young passengers daily access to discounted rides.
Alongside the discount, Marcos also unveiled a more convenient way of reloading Beep cards, eliminating the need for long lines at physical stations.
“Pinabilis at pinagaan na natin. Much more convenient na ngayon para makapag-avail ang ating mga estudyante,” he added.
The President assured that his administration will continue to modernize public transport, aiming to create a smoother and more affordable commuting experience for all Filipinos.
