MARCOS OKS 21 PRIORITY BILLS AHEAD OF JUNE

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has approved 21 priority bills targeted for passage before June following the third Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting held at Malacañang on Tuesday.

The development was announced by Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro after the meeting attended by members of Congress.

Among the priority measures are the abolition of the travel tax, the expanded Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse bill, proposed laws addressing fake news and digital disinformation, and legislation on the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) elections aimed at ensuring orderly and credible polls.

“Layunin ng mga panukalang ito na pagaanin ang pagaanin ang pasanin ng mamamayan at palakasin ang proteksiyon, transparency at pananagutan ng pamahalaan,” Castro said.

Also included in the administration’s legislative agenda are the Anti-Dynasty Law, CADENA Act, Independent People’s Commission Act, and the Party-List System Reform Act, which seek to strengthen public representation and participation in governance.

Marcos expressed hope that lawmakers would act swiftly on the measures so their benefits could be felt by the public.
