MARCOS TO MEET JAPAN-PHILIPPINES ECONOMIC DELEGATES

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is set to meet with delegates from the Economic Cooperation Committees of Japan and the Philippines to explore new business opportunities and strengthen bilateral economic ties.

The courtesy call at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday afternoon forms part of the 42nd annual joint meeting between the two countries.

“Maliban sa pagpapanday ng mas matibay na relasyon, layunin din ng nasabing pulong na pag-usapan ang mga economic and business opportunities para sa ikabubuti ng ekonomiya ng dalawang bansa,” Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.

“Inaasahang tatalakayin sa pulong ang mga paksa ng kalakalan, pamumuhunan, pagpapaunlad sa imprastraktura, at pagpapayaman sa human resources at turismo ng Japan at Pilipinas,” she added.

Expected attendees from the Philippine side include Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Finance Secretary Frederick Go, Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, and Secretary of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development Arsenio Balisacan.

Japanese participants include Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya, Minister for Economic Affairs Naobumi Yokota, and representatives from the Philippines-Japan Economic Operation Committee and the Japan-Philippines Economic Cooperation Committee.
