President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday encouraged Filipino job seekers and aspiring entrepreneurs to seize free mentorship and training opportunities, stressing the need to adapt to industries rapidly reshaped by digital technology and artificial intelligence.
Speaking at the launch of the Trabaho at Negosyo Program organized by Go Negosyo at the SM Mall of Asia, Marcos underscored the importance of continuous learning in a fast-changing global economy.

“What many of us have studied and developed a decade—or even just a couple of years ago—are sometimes we find no longer relevant,” Marcos said.
“Industries are being reshaped by digital technology and artificial intelligence, or AI. Traditional jobs are transforming. The skills that were once optional, now they are essential.
He emphasized that while Filipinos are known for their capability and resourcefulness, they must remain open to acquiring new skills to stay competitive.
The initiative also features a job fair connecting applicants with employers from various industries.

The President concluded by highlighting the broader significance of skills development and job creation for national progress.
“Because when we build skills, we build confidence. When we create jobs, we restore the dignity of our people. And when we strengthen our economic foundations, we build a stronger nation for tomorrow.”
