MARCOS WELCOMES DISMISSAL OF IMPEACHMENT COMPLAINTS

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. expressed satisfaction over the decision of the House Committee on Justice to declare the two impeachment complaints filed against him as insufficient in substance.

According to Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, the President was pleased upon learning the outcome in the House, noting that due process was observed and the truth was recognized.

“Natuwa po siya. Ang sabi nga po niya ay nasunod ang proseso at yun din naman ang gusto ng Pangulo. Masunod ang proseso at makita ang katotohanan,” Castro said.

Castro added that Marcos emphasized it is now time to concentrate on governance and efforts to uplift the country’s economy.

The President did not watch the proceedings in the House as he was attending a private meeting and a major personal engagement, and was only informed of the committee’s action afterward.

Castro also clarified that Marcos did not form a legal team because he was confident he had committed no wrongdoing and had not violated the Constitution in a manner that would constitute an impeachable offense.

She defended the President against claims that the dismissal of the impeachment complaints was due to his influence over the majority in the House of Representatives, stressing that even non-supporters acknowledged the complaints were weak and without merit.
