MAYOR VICO SOTTO EYED AS REPLACEMENT FOR MAGALONG IN ICI

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has emerged as a possible replacement for Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong in the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).

Magalong resigned as ICI Special Adviser after issues of “conflict of interest” were raised, along with criticisms that he was neglecting his duties as mayor of Baguio.

When asked if he would accept the offer to take over Magalong’s post, Sotto briefly responded: “Magre-release na po kami ng statement.”

Meanwhile, several members of the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) signed a manifesto expressing support for Magalong’s fight against corruption.

Among those who expressed solidarity were Sotto himself, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, and Naga City Mayor and former Vice President Leni Robredo.
