The government has set the demo run of the Metro Manila Subway for 2028, with full commercial operations targeted by 2033, Malacañang announced on Tuesday.
During a Palace press briefing, Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. met with Transportation Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez to discuss measures aimed at easing commuter concerns and improving transport services.
Castro also announced that partial operations of major railway projects are expected to begin within the next few years.
Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation proposed extending the validity of new car registrations to five years, a move that Castro said has received initial approval from the President.
