MMDA DEPLOYS 2,400 ENFORCERS FOR UNDAS 2025 OPERATIONS

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will deploy over 2,000 traffic enforcers to maintain order and safety on major roads before, during, and after the observance of Undas 2025.

“The MMDA is already prepared. We will be deploying around 2,400 enforcers,” said MMDA Task Force Special Operations Chief Edison “Bong” Nebrija during a news forum in Quezon City on Saturday, October 25.

According to Nebrija, the deployment began October 25 and will continue until November 3, covering the period when thousands of Filipinos are expected to travel to visit their departed loved ones.

“We will have a no absent, no leave, no day off policy on October 30, 31, [until] November 3,” he added, noting that all personnel are required to report for duty throughout the holiday period.

The MMDA has also started clearing operations in five major cemeteries in Metro Manila: Manila North Cemetery, Manila South Cemetery, Loyola Memorial Park Marikina, Bagbag Cemetery, and San Juan Cemetery.

To ensure smooth traffic flow during the annual exodus, the agency has coordinated with tollway operators including North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).

Nebrija said the MMDA also met with the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to finalize traffic management and security plans for the long weekend.

Both October 31 (Friday) and November 1 (Saturday) have been declared special non-working holidays to give Filipinos enough time to observe All Saints’ Day and visit cemeteries safely and conveniently.
