NAIA RECORDS HIGHEST PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN 2025

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) posted its highest annual passenger traffic in 2025, handling 52.02 million travelers, according to its private operator, New NAIA Infra Corporation (NNIC). This marks the largest annual volume ever recorded at the country’s main aviation gateway.

December was the busiest month in NAIA’s history, with 4.86 million passengers. Of these, 2.367 million were international travelers—the highest monthly international figure on record—while 2.495 million were domestic passengers, the second-largest monthly volume for local travel.

The figures cover all airport activity, including domestic flights, overseas Filipino travel, business trips, and connecting passengers.

Despite heavier traffic, operations remained stable, supported by improvements such as biometric immigration e-Gates, upgraded processing systems, and enhanced coordination among airlines and government agencies.

“Managing higher passenger volumes requires both infrastructure and close coordination,” NNIC said.

“The focus has been on improving flow, reducing bottlenecks, and ensuring the airport can handle peak demand more effectively.”

NNIC added that passenger-focused initiatives in 2025 aimed to boost efficiency, safety, and overall travel experience, while working closely with government partners to ensure smoother end-to-end journeys.
