NAZARENE DEVOTEES CALLED TO JOIN DEC. 30 THANKSGIVING PROCESSION

Devotees of the Black Nazarene are invited to take part in a solemn thanksgiving procession on Tuesday night, December 30, according to Nazareno 2026 organizers.

“Huwag natin kakalimutan na maging banal din ang ating bawat gawain kasi ang mga gampanin na ginagawa natin ay mga espiritual na aktibidades,” said Fr. Robert Arellano, spokesperson for Nazareno 2026, during a press briefing on Monday.

He emphasized the importance of discipline among participants, adding, “Makikita ang ganda, ang galing, at ang kaayusan depende sa disiplina din na ibinibigay ng ating mga deboto.”

The procession is expected to last two to three hours and will follow a detailed route beginning and ending at Plaza Miranda, passing through key streets in Quiapo including Palanca, Carriedo, Quezon Boulevard, Legarda, and Hidalgo.

Quiapo Church technical adviser Alex Irasga said the image of the Nazarene will not be pulled by ropes this year. Instead, it will be placed in a carosa mounted on a truck, which will move slowly and be surrounded by hijos and police officers for order and security.
