NCRPO TIGHTENS SECURITY AHEAD OF NOVEMBER 30 “TRILLION PESO MARCH”

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is ramping up preparations for the upcoming “Trillion Peso March” protest on November 30, to prevent a repeat of the violent incidents that occurred during the September 21 rally in Manila.

Police Major Hazel Asilo, chief of the NCRPO’s Public Information Office, said on Sunday, November 2, that their security plan is now in full swing.

“Kami ay nakahanda na at patuloy na naghahanda para sa November 30 na Trillion Peso March,” Asilo said in a radio interview.

She added that the NCRPO has intensified its monitoring operations, especially online.

“Ngayon, mas pinaigting natin ‘yong monitoring lalo ‘yong pagbabantay sa social media dahil doon natin nakita na nahihikayat ‘yung kabataan,” she noted.

According to reports, 216 individuals, including 89 minors, were arrested following the violent clashes that erupted during a protest against alleged corruption in flood control projects last September 21.

The Trillion Peso March, set to take place nationwide on November 30, is being organized by various sectors to demand accountability, the return of stolen public funds, and greater government transparency.
