NCRPO VOWS MAXIMUM TOLERANCE AHEAD OF NOV. 30 ANTI-CORRUPTION RALLIES

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reminded its personnel to uphold maximum tolerance and respect constitutional rights, particularly those of protesters, ahead of the scheduled “Trillion Peso March” and “Baha sa Luneta 2.0” rallies on November 30.

The demonstrations follow earlier protests on September 21 calling for accountability in alleged large-scale corruption.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the NCRPO said all security preparations are in place for the upcoming mobilization.

“The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), under the leadership of Regional Director PMGen. Anthony A. Aberin, confirms that all security preparations are in place for the upcoming 2nd Trillion Peso March on November 30, 2025. This follows the successful maintenance of peace and order during the recent two-day religious rally,” the statement began.

The NCRPO said preventive measures have been strengthened based on lessons learned from tense incidents at Ayala Bridge and Mendiola during the September 21 protest.

“To ensure public safety and maintain order throughout the event, enhanced security measures have been implemented in key convergence zones… This time, the NCRPO is prioritizing prevention through early deployment, intensified monitoring, and proactive safeguards to avoid any recurrence,” it added.

A large police contingent, including Civil Disturbance Management units, special forces, and the Reactionary Standby Support Force, will be deployed. The NCRPO noted that force composition may be adjusted depending on crowd behavior and real-time assessments.

NCRPO Director Anthony Aberin assured that police would not hinder the protest, only safeguard peace and public safety.

“In line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for peace and public safety, the NCRPO remains committed to delivering Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman. We fully respect everyone’s rights to freedom of speech, of expression and of peaceful assembly… Let us work together to keep Metro Manila safe, orderly, and peaceful for all,” he said.

President Bongbong Marcos earlier aired concerns about possible disruptors in the upcoming protest actions.
