Nearly a hundred lawmakers from Metro Manila and Mindanao have renewed their support for House Speaker Bojie Dy, describing his leadership as essential to restoring integrity, stability, and public trust in the House of Representatives.
The two blocs met separately with Dy and issued their own manifestos affirming confidence in his stewardship. Of the 33 lawmakers from Metro Manila, 30 commended Dy for his calm, sincere, and principled leadership amid public outrage over major flood control corruption scandals.
They also endorsed his push for the creation of the Independent Commission Against Infrastructure Corruption (ICAIC), calling it “precisely what transparency and accountability calls for.”
The Metro Manila group further praised Dy’s backing of the Anti-Dynasty Bill, saying his willingness to advance the measure “even if it may affect your own family” serves as a “powerful wake-up call to the members of Congress.”
They also credited him for “successfully shepherding” the timely and transparent passage of the 2026 General Appropriations Bill.
In a separate manifesto, 67 lawmakers from Mindanao declared their “firm, united and unwavering support” for Dy. Stressing the region’s position “at the crossroads of development, peace, and nation-building,” they said the House needs a leader anchored in “stability, continuity, and the rule of law” amid political divisions and declining public trust.
“We recognize Speaker Dy’s commitment to: strengthening the rule of law, upholding institutional integrity, and ensuring that the House is guided by fairness, transparency, and accountability,” they said, adding that his leadership provides “the stability and predictability needed to deliver reforms, defend democratic processes, and protect the national interest.”
The Mindanao bloc emphasized that Dy’s leadership aligns with their pursuit of “peace, stability, and credible governance,” saying they stand behind him because he embodies the leadership required for a more transparent and accountable government.
The Northern Luzon bloc, the Party-list Coalition Foundation Inc., and the Visayas bloc had earlier expressed similar support for the Speaker.
