NEW WAGE HIKE APPROVED FOR WORKERS AND HOUSEHELP IN ILOCOS, WESTERN VISAYAS

The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) has confirmed that minimum wage earners and domestic workers in Regions I (Ilocos) and VI (Western Visayas) will soon receive a salary increase.

According to the NWPC, the wage adjustments follow new Wage Orders issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) in both regions.

Under Wage Order No. RB 1-24, the minimum wage in the Ilocos Region will increase by ₱37 to ₱45, while Wage Order No. RB 1-DW-06 raises the monthly pay of domestic workers to ₱6,700.

In the Western Visayas, Wage Order No. RBVI-29 grants a ₱37 to ₱40 increase in daily pay, and RBVI-DW-07 sets the new monthly minimum wage for kasambahays at ₱6,500.

“The approved daily wage increases are from ₱37 to ₱45 in Ilocos and ₱37 to ₱40 in Western Visayas. This will cover an estimated 389,505 minimum wage earners,” the NWPC announced.

“Domestic workers or kasambahays in Ilocos and Western Visayas will also receive a monthly increase of ₱700 and ₱500, respectively, covering an estimated 259,819 domestic workers,” it added.

The wage hike takes effect on November 19.
