ORGANIZERS: TRILLION PESO MARCH TO FOCUS ON CORRUPTION, NOT POLITICS

Organizers of the second “Trillion Peso March” said the protest will not center on political divides or demands for leadership changes, but will remain focused on its primary objective—denouncing systemic corruption in government.

Kiko Aquino-Dee, one of the organizers, stressed that the event carries no partisan intent.

“We’re not pro-anyone and we’re kind of anti-everyone,” he said. The rally’s unified call, he noted, is for “transparency, return the money, respect the 1987 Constitution and prevail over dynasties.”

Dee pointed out that only contractors and former Department of Public Works and Highways engineers have been arrested so far in corruption investigations.

“Definitely we want to see the arrest of high ranking officials involved in the corruption to prove to the people that there are no sacred cows in the investigation,” he added.

While placards demanding President Bongbong Marcos’ resignation will be tolerated as long as they do not cause disturbance, Dee underscored that extra-constitutional calls will not be allowed.

“If they urge the Armed Forces to withdraw support, that’s definitely beyond the bounds,” he said, explaining that marshals—and if necessary, the Philippine National Police—will address such situations.

Amid coup rumors and political tensions, Dee reiterated that their loyalty is to the Constitution, emphasizing that both the President and Vice President hold mandates from the 2022 elections.

“As much as I don’t like Marcos and Duterte, they did receive the mandate of the people… It’s the constitutional order that they follow to occupy that position,” he said.
