The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that 109 ports across the country have been affected by Super Typhoon Uwan, disrupting sea travel and stranding thousands of passengers and transport vehicles.
As of Sunday morning, the PCG said 6,679 passengers, including drivers and cargo helpers, were unable to travel due to the severe weather.
The report also noted that 3,249 rolling cargoes, 82 vessels, and 23 motorbancas remain stranded in various ports nationwide.
Meanwhile, 447 vessels and 316 motorbancas have taken shelter in safe zones to avoid the storm’s impact.
The PCG remains on high alert, with personnel and assets fully deployed in affected areas to ensure safety and support ongoing disaster response operations.
