PAG-IBIG FUND LAUNCHES SPECIAL PACKAGE FOR OFWs AFFECTED BY MIDDLE EAST CRISIS

In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to assist overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) impacted by the Middle East crisis, the Pag-IBIG Fund has rolled out a special benefits package granting qualified members access to their savings and temporary relief on housing loan payments.

Human Settlements Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, chair of the Pag-IBIG Board of Trustees, said the initiative comes at a crucial time as repatriation of war-affected OFWs continues.

“Ito po ang ambag ng Pag-IBIG Fund sa hangarin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. para sa whole-of-government approach sa pagtulong sa ating mga bayaning OFWs,” Aliling said in a statement.

Under the package, qualified OFWs may:

  • Withdraw up to 100% of their Pag-IBIG regular savings, including employee and employer shares and dividends, before the 20-year maturity.
  • Withdraw up to 100% of their Modified Pag-IBIG II (MP2) savings, including earned returns, before the five-year maturity.
  • Avail of a three-month moratorium on housing loan payments, free from interest and penalties, with the loan term extended accordingly.

“Through this benefits package, qualified members may access their Pag-IBIG savings and receive temporary relief on housing loan payments, giving them more room to provide for their families and meet urgent needs during this difficult time,” Aliling added.

As of February 2026, Pag-IBIG reported 891,427 registered OFWs in the Middle East, including 86,234 MP2 savers and 40,024 housing loan borrowers, with the largest populations in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.

Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta emphasized accessibility, noting that applications will be available online through Virtual Pag-IBIG, while more than 200 branches, OFW Centers, and service offices are ready to assist members and their families.

Pag-IBIG services operate Monday to Friday in office-based branches and Tuesday to Saturday in mall-based branches, alongside the digital platform.
