PAGASA: NO WEATHER DISTURBANCE SEEN

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, December 14, that no weather disturbance is expected to form within the Philippine area of responsibility over the next three days.

Weather specialist Robert Badrina said three weather systems are currently prevailing across the country: the shear line, easterlies, and the northeast monsoon or amihan.

PAGASA said the shear line, caused by the convergence of hot and cold air, is bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Aurora and Quezon provinces, based on its 5 a.m. advisory.

The easterlies, or warm and humid winds from the Pacific, are affecting CARAGA and the Davao Region, producing similar weather conditions.

Metro Manila and the rest of CALABARZON are expected to experience overcast skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are forecast over the Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Mindanao, also due to the easterlies.

PAGASA said amihan will continue to prevail over the rest of Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains within the next 24 hours.
