PALACE AWAITS DILG CLARIFICATION ON VP SARA’S CAMP BAGONG DIWA VISITS

Malacañang has yet to receive information from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) regarding Vice President Sara Duterte’s alleged multiple visits to Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig, where her purported “bagman,” Ramil Madriaga, is detained.

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the detainee facility is under DILG supervision, and the Palace will seek details from Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

“Kung mayroon man ganitong instance, siguro ay alamin muna natin sa DILG. Tingnan na lang po natin,” Castro said.

The alleged visits were reported by columnist Ramon Tulfo, who claimed that VP Sara reportedly asked Madriaga not to speak about the Dutertes’ supposed involvement with POGO operators and illegal drug activities.

Madriaga is detained for a kidnapping case filed by POGO operators, allegedly with the assistance of former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Castro noted that the Palace has heard Madriaga’s statements claiming that POGO operators and drug lords funded VP Sara’s campaign, and said it would be more appropriate for the Vice President to comment on the matter herself.
