PALACE DARES CHAVIT SINGSON TO PROVE ‘SUSPICIOUS PROJECTS’ IN ILOCOS NORTE

Malacañang has challenged former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson to substantiate his allegations that there are suspicious government projects in Ilocos Norte, the home province of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

This came amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the flood control scam, which Singson claimed also extends to other questionable projects in the region.

According to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, anyone who makes accusations must be ready to back them up with evidence.

“Kanya pong sinabi ‘yan, eh ‘di patunayan niya,” Castro said in response to Singson’s remarks.

Castro added that all flood control-related projects will undergo investigation — not only in Ilocos Norte, but also in Ilocos Sur, where Singson served as governor. She said the public will soon see whether all of Singson’s projects were indeed clean and aboveboard.

Singson has recently become one of the vocal critics of the administration after reportedly feeling slighted by President Marcos.
