PALACE DEFENDS FOUR-DAY WORK WEEK, CLARIFIES WFH POLICY

Malacañang responded to criticism from a netizen regarding the implementation of a four-day work week at the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), clarifying that Fridays are designated as work-from-home days rather than holidays.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro explained that government personnel continue to perform their duties remotely.

“Hindi kasi alam ng iba diyan na work from home kami. Katulad kahapon hanggang hanggang alas sais ng gabi ang meeting namin,” she said.

Castro stressed that government employees remain productive even while working from home, urging the public to focus on cooperation instead of criticism.

She noted that negativity and baseless attacks against government initiatives do not help the public, especially as the country faces global challenges such as the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

She emphasized that collective effort between government and citizens is essential to lessen the effects of international crises.
