PALACE GATHERS METRO MANILA MAYORS FOR RECORD LGSF ROLLOUT

Malacañang convened all 17 Metro Manila mayors on Wednesday to map out the rollout of the 2026 Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), the largest allocation ever granted to local government units.

Executive Secretary Ralph Recto led the high-level meeting, stressing the “efficient” and “transparent” use of funds to deliver projects with immediate and tangible benefits for communities.

He said the LGSF reflected President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s push to ensure economic growth translates into grassroots improvements across barangays, municipalities, and cities.

Recto asked local chief executives to identify high-impact initiatives tailored to Metro Manila’s varied needs, ranging from infrastructure upgrades to expanded social services.

The Metro Manila mayors expressed support for the administration’s development agenda and thanked the President for expanding LGUs’ access to national funding through the enhanced LGSF program.

The LGSF is a national government funding mechanism designed to help LGUs implement priority programs and projects aligned with national development goals, particularly in infrastructure development and social service delivery.
