Malacañang clarified Friday that Senator Imee Marcos’ absence of a Presidential Security Command (PSC) detail has nothing to do with her reported differences with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Wala pong kinalaman iyon.”
PSC chief Rear Admiral Andro Val Abayon earlier told the Commission on Appointments (CA) that no close-in security personnel are currently assigned to Senator Marcos.
He noted, however, that another Marcos sibling, Irene Marcos-Araneta, continues to have PSC personnel.
The Palace emphasized that security assignments are operational decisions made by the PSC itself and are not influenced by personal or political issues within the First Family.
