PALACE: PBBM NEUTRAL ON POSSIBLE VP SARA IMPEACHMENT

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will handle any fresh impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte the same way he approached the flood control probe—by allowing due process to take its course, according to Malacañang.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President was responding to reports of a possible new impeachment bid by the Makabayan bloc once the one-year ban lapses on February 6.

Castro stressed that Marcos will not intervene or lobby for any outcome and will support whatever result emerges from the legal process.

She said the strength of any new impeachment case would depend on Congress, urging lawmakers to prioritize public interest.

The remarks come amid speculation of another impeachment attempt, following earlier claims by Senator Imee Marcos that alleged pork in the 2026 budget could be used to build support for such a move—claims rejected by several lawmakers as baseless.
