PALACE SAYS PBBM “WILL NOT DISAPPOINT” PUBLIC ON FLOOD CONTROL CORRUPTION CRACKDOWN

Malacañang on Sunday assured the public that President Bongbong Marcos remains firmly committed to holding accountable those involved in the flood control corruption scandal, with the Palace promising that the Chief Executive “will not disappoint you.”

Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez said the administration is focused on building airtight cases to avoid a repeat of the embarrassing dismissal of charges linked to the ₱10-billion pork barrel scam.

“Kailangan matibay talaga ‘yung kaso… nag-iipon tayo ng ebidensya,” Gomez said.

He emphasized that Marcos is personally steering the anti-corruption drive and remains undistracted by calls for his resignation.

“Hindi madi-distract ang Pangulo… Sinimulan niya ito at tatapusin niya ito,” he added.

Thus far, only one case in the controversy has resulted in arrest warrants, including those issued against former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co. Gomez said more warrants are expected to follow.

He noted that investigations by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure and the Department of Public Works and Highways are nearing completion, with several complaints already filed before the Office of the Ombudsman and cases progressing at the Sandiganbayan.

“Marami pa in the coming days… magkakatotoo ang sinabi ng Pangulo bago mag-Pasko,” Gomez said, referencing Marcos’ promise to jail key players before Christmas.

“Alam naming galit kayo… naiinip na kayo. But we will not disappoint you. The President will not disappoint you,” he said.
