Malacañang announced it will take legal action against individuals spreading false claims online about President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s health.
The Palace said the disinformation campaign escalated last week, with posts alleging the President was already at “stage 4” of a serious illness.
Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro strongly denounced the rumors, describing them as a deliberate attempt to destabilize the administration.
“Hindi sila si Nostradamus, mga buwitre sila kaya kahit ang kalusugan ng Pangulo ay gagawan ng tsismis,” Castro said, emphasizing that obstructionists are exploiting the President’s condition to sow distrust.
Castro urged the public to gather videos and fake posts and submit them to Malacañang so those responsible can be held accountable.
She also cautioned that more attacks are expected as political tensions rise, particularly with impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte looming.
