Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said that the study of the anti-political dynasty bill should not be rushed to avoid producing “substandard” legislation, similar to some flood control projects.
In an interview, Castro noted that the bill, prioritized by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in Congress, should be carefully reviewed.
Inaaral ‘to. Eh baka maging sobrang bilis, ‘yung pagdedebate nila, kulang. Eh baka maging substandard katulad ng mga flood control projects,” Castro said.
She emphasized that the bill is intended to benefit the public, allowing citizens greater freedom to choose leaders based on merit rather than family name.
Castro also stated that Marcos instructed that the term “dynasty” be clearly defined, as it is prohibited under the 1987 Constitution.
