PALACE WARNS VS USING SURVEYS AS MEASURE OF PERFORMANCE

Malacañang on Friday cautioned against using survey results as indicators of government performance following the release of a Social Weather Stations (SWS) poll showing President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. with a 40% satisfaction rating, trailing Vice President Sara Duterte’s 54%.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro questioned the reliability of the figures, citing uncertainty over how the results were computed, and stressed that governance should be judged by actual work rather than public perception.

Castro said Marcos remains focused on fulfilling his mandate, while pointing out that the Vice President is currently on vacation.

She reiterated that survey numbers do not equate to performance or productivity in public service.

Malacañang emphasized that the administration remains committed to delivering results on the ground, regardless of fluctuating approval ratings.
