Senator Kiko Pangilinan has called on the public to convince former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo to run for president again in the 2028 national elections.
In his latest Facebook post on Friday, November 21, Pangilinan said that amid calls for “BBM Resign,” he would rather see a movement encouraging Robredo to run for president.
Pangilinan was Robredo’s vice-presidential running mate during her presidential bid in the 2022 elections, although both lost to President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte, who ran under the “BBM-Sara UniTeam” alliance.
Despite no longer being very active in national politics, Robredo is still seen as a potential threat to VP Sara Duterte’s 2028 presidential bid, following pre-election surveys where Robredo consistently ranks second to Duterte.
