President Bongbong Marcos on Wednesday announced a phased increase in the base pay of military and uniformed personnel (MUP), to be implemented in three tranches starting January 2026 through 2028.
In a video statement, Marcos recognized the service and dedication of MUPs, especially during natural disasters.
“Sa gitna nito, naging matibay na sandigan ng bayan ang ating mga military at uniformed personnel,” he said.
“Bilang pagkilala sa inyong walang sawang paglilingkod, dedikasyon, at husay, ating itataas ang base pay ng MUP,” Marcos added.
The pay hike covers personnel from the Department of National Defense, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Corrections, and the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority.
Tranches are scheduled every January 1 from 2026 to 2028. Earlier this year, Marcos also approved an increase in the military’s daily subsistence allowance from ₱150 to ₱350.
