President Bongbong Marcos on Monday dismissed the latest accusations from former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co, saying his online exposés carry no weight unless he returns to the Philippines and faces the arrest warrant linked to the anomalous flood control projects.
“Look at the quality of his statements,” Marcos said during a Malacañang briefing. “Anyone can go online and make all kinds of claims. Paulit-ulit. It means nothing.”
He challenged Co to stop posting videos from abroad and confront the charges directly.
“For it to mean something, umuwi siya dito. Harapin niya ‘yung mga kaso niya,” Marcos said. “Kung meron siyang gustong sabihin, sabihin niya. Patunayan niya. Bakit ka nagtatago sa malayo?”
The President added that he himself was not avoiding scrutiny.
“Ako? Hindi ako nagtatago. Kung may akusasyon ka sa akin, nandito ako. Gawin niyang pareho para patas naman,” he said.
Authorities are pursuing individuals named in Sandiganbayan-issued arrest warrants, with seven of Co’s co-accused already in custody. Co remains the high-profile fugitive at large.
