PBBM TO STAY ON DUTY DURING HOLY WEEK, MONITOR MIDDLE EAST DEVELOPMENTS

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will remain on duty even while spending Holy Week in Ilocos Norte with his family, Malacañang said Wednesday, April 1.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro explained that the President will continue monitoring developments in the Middle East, particularly the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, to ensure the government is prepared to respond to any sudden changes.

Cabinet members are also on standby, especially officials from the Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Transportation (DOTr), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

“Ang Pangulo kahit na nasa Ilocos Norte o kahit na saang lugar man ‘yan, kapag nag-utos ang Pangulo, dapat sundin, lalo na kung ang iniutos niya ay para sa ating mga kababayan,” Castro said.

She added that Cabinet officials are expected to report to the President during the holiday break to address any urgent issues linked to the Middle East crisis.

Marcos and his family are expected to return to Manila over the weekend.
