PBBM VOWS TO HOLD FLOOD CONTROL SCAMMERS ACCOUNTABLE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. has warned that government officials and contractors involved in the anomalous flood control projects will face justice and return stolen public funds.

“Pananagutin natin lahat ng may kasalanan. Ibabalik natin,” the President said during his report on the three-month investigation on Thursday, November 13.

Marcos said the government has already filed cases against those for whom evidence exists.

“Sinampahan na natin ng kaso ‘yong mga may ebidensya tayo na mayroon silang kinalaman dito sa mga korapsyon na ito,” he stated.

He also assured that stolen funds would be recovered to be used properly.

“Tinitiyak natin na ang kanilang ninakaw na pondo ay maibabalik sa pamahalaan upang magamit sa tama ang mga perang ‘yan,” Marcos added.

To prevent recurrence, Marcos said reforms have been implemented across various government agencies.

“Naglagay tayo ng mga reporma para itong pangyayaring ito ay hindi na talagang mauulit,” he explained.

The President criticized those involved as “walang hiya” and warned that their days of enjoying ill-gotten gains are over.

“Hahabulin na namin kayo… Wala silang Merry Christmas, before Christmas makukulong na sila,” he said.

Marcos also noted that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed cases with the Department of Justice (DOJ) against 89 contractors and officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Commission on Audit (COA) for tax evasion.
