PNP REPORTS PEACEFUL AND ORDERLY OBSERVANCE OF UNDAS 2025

The observance of “Undas” (All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days) this year has been “peaceful and orderly,” according to acting Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

In a statement released Sunday, Nartatez said that based on data gathered as of November 1, the PNP has not recorded any major incidents or threats in cemeteries, transport terminals, and other crowded public areas across the country.

“The security measures for Undas 2025 does not end on the planning and deployment of our uniformed personnel,” he said.

“We have to make sure that the security plan is properly implemented and necessary security adjustments are done depending on the situation on the ground.”

Nartatez added that he has been personally monitoring the situation through reports being submitted to the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

“We are continuously monitoring the situation on the ground and with the dedication of our personnel and counterparts from other government agencies, and with the cooperation of the public, we are on the right track of achieving that goal,” he said.

As early as October 30, the PNP deployed over 50,000 police officers nationwide to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the holiday observance. Of this number, 20,829 officers were assigned to 4,901 cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria, working alongside village watchmen, soldiers, Coast Guard members, and volunteer organizations.

Meanwhile, another 4,352 police officers were stationed in 1,478 Motorists Assistance Centers along major highways and transport routes to assist travelers.

Nartatez said police visibility and assistance operations will continue, particularly at transportation hubs, to manage the expected influx of returning travelers to Metro Manila until Monday, November 3.

The PNP urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperative as the nation concludes this year’s Undas observance.
