PNP VOWS LAWFUL, ORDERLY ENFORCEMENT OF WARRANTS VS. ZALDY CO

The Philippine National Police (PNP) issued a statement on Friday, November 21, following the release of warrants of arrest against former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co and several others linked to alleged flood control anomalies.

In a statement from acting PNP chief PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the police assured the public that coordination with the Sandiganbayan and other agencies is underway to ensure proper and lawful implementation of the warrants.

“We assure the public that due process will be strictly observed, and the individuals involved will be accorded all rights guaranteed under the law,” Nartatez Jr. said.

He added that the development highlights the government’s continuing efforts to uphold integrity in public service.

“This development reflects the continuing effort of government institutions to ensure transparency and accountability in public service. The PNP remains committed to supporting these processes professionally, fairly, and without prejudice.”

Nartatez appealed for public confidence in institutions as they carry out their duties with integrity and strict adherence to the law.

The statement comes after President Bongbong Marcos, through a video message also released Friday, urged swift enforcement of arrest warrants against Co and his co-respondents.
