QUIAPO CHURCH ISSUES GUIDELINES FOR FIRST SUNDAY MASS

The Quiapo Church on Saturday issued guidelines for devotees who will attend the First Sunday Mass of the year at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazereno in Manila on January 4.

In a social media post, the minor basilica said there are three entrances to the shrine. For those who will attend the Holy Mass and want to enter the church from Plaza Lacson to Carlos Palanca St., they may enter from Villalobos St. toward Plaza Miranda and the church.

For those coming from the west and north, devotees may take Rizal Avenue toward Carriedo St. until they reach Plaza San Juan Bautista. Meanwhile, devotees coming from the north or España Boulevard may take Quezon Boulevard towards Quinta Market, enter Villalobos St. until reaching Plaza Miranda and the church.

Motorists were also advised to expect heavy traffic, particularly in front of the church along Quezon Boulevard (southbound), due to scheduled Masses from 5 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

As in previous years, the feast day of Jesus Nazareno on January 9 will be highlighted by the Traslacion or the procession from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.
